The Middle
It's funny to see how writers and producers see families as working today. This show actually seems somewhat like what a real 'American family' functions like. Parents that work all day, suffer from job loss sometimes and other random things. A teenage son who is lazy but in a lot of school activities, doesn't care about his school work or much of anything else. A teenage daughter who is what we would consider to be a 'nerd' and is just trying to get into as many school activities as she possibly can just to fit in. And a younger son in elementary who feels like he doesn't fit in with anyone else in the family, loves reading and doesn't have many friends. It shows all the random issues that some families suffer from and doesn't depict 'American families' as some fake, happy, everyone getting along and everything is perfect, such as no job loss or fighting. This show to me is a five star show.
